Maybe not, even though I have been a guitarist for nearly 3 decades. Music describes life but it is not life.

I've often used music to give my life tempo and set a mood.

To relax and push through my day, I use reggae. The constant beat keep me marching through my work.

For playing sports it depends on the game. I used to listen to various metal bands before football games.

Classical to wake up (it's more peaceful). Country is used to annoy my friends. Blues when I'm feeling alone.

The wrong music will destroy a situation.

But you're probably right. It's not as important to you as it is me.

idk, how important is it to you? it's VERY important to me!! music and dance is my life. i sing, play instruments, and i cannot stand silence. the silence is louder than any other noise on earth in my opininon. i listen to music all the time: by the pool, in dance(ha ha, duh), when i run i listen to my iPOD, i listen to my iPOD at school, when i sleep i leave music on, when i'm in my room there is ALWAYS music on, and like i said....music is my life. lol.
