It's not unlikely at all and no, I would not run away from service.

Being someone who cannot be drafted, nor even join the military when I wanted to. I have seizures out of no where sometimes and it prevents me from going.
The draft can and will happen, just wait. The "War on Terror" errr Oil will continue for the next few decades. You cannot stop something like this soley through force. What Bush does not understand is you need some sort of diplomacy... but I guess that's not what either side wants.
When it happens, everyone will go. Men and Women. You have flat feet, your going. They are going to make it hard to dodge the draft. If your a rich kid, who cares your going. This isn't favoritism anymore. Although, most of the poor and middle class kids will get called up first... magically lol.
Being from a family of 6 kids, I'll hate seeing something like this. Especially if one of my 4 little sisters goes and I'm sitting home working and enjoying things while they are fighting a war for someone else.

I'm sure the blue collar working class kids will still join or be drafted in large numbers. It's the conservative, rich Republican kids that will be running across the border or finding some type of deferment to get out of serving in the military. they always support a war as long as it's someone elses blood being spilled, just like dear old George W. Bush and his whole clan. You notice not one member of the entire Bush family sees fit to serve their country in the military. This is from a Viet Nam vet who didn't see very many conservative Republicans in the foxholes over there.

well being in the marines before, personally i would pick up arms and go where im needed...I dont like the idea of the war, i dont like the president's reasoning behind the war, but because of my convictions, i would pick up and fight.
I wouldnt put it past the end of this administration to re-instate it if the numbers of recruits stays as low as its been.

Re-instituting the draft is a very real possibility, and becomes more so every day.
And if it is, I will run not walk straight north into Canada.
Bless their hearts.

I know the democrats would dodge a draft just like Clinton. Any 'true' American would pick up arms.

It would be hell trying to find Americans not already in the service in good enough shape to serve!
I would hate it, but I would do it. I would protest a hell of a lot, first.

those of you who would have the choice should do what you think is right, neither decision is cowardly
