not the workers, the children of the workers.
They don't want to work in a field making $3.00 an hour.

Wow. I can't believe people think you're racist for asking the question. That's taking being politically correct entirely too far.

The answer to this couldn't be given in 200 pages let along a few lines, but here's a quick summary of the major parts:

- Illegal immigrants represent the highest crime rate in the country as a demographic. Be careful of your phrasing here... non-illegal Hispanics haven't anywhere near the same crime rate (and what does that say?).

- The crime rate of children(?) is always very low, regardless of the demographic. Now, if by children you mean 18-25... then you're not really talking about children, are you?

- Crime rises and falls over periods due to a number of influences. Chief amongst these are education, economic stability and political stability. Race plays no role, other than as an indicator of these other conditions. What do I mean by an indicator? If you are Hispanic, chances are good you came from a background of low education and economic instability. Being Hispanic doesn't cause these things, it merely represents a demographic which is challenged by these issues.

- The next thing you should check is whether the crime rate has risen proportionately in any other demographics. You'll find that it has, although not as significantly. Why? The various economic upheavals of the past several years have been partly responsible. Any time the standard of living goes down, crime will go up.

Statistics show that it is not the ethnic background that determine the percentage of people turning to crime, but the level of education, the situation in the parental home and poverty.

So it is not the influx of uneducated hispanic children, but uneducated children that makes the crime rise.

No, crime is on the rise because of ALL the uneducated children. Since the schools no longer teach the difference between right and wrong because THAT would be wrong [oooo- it comes from religion and we can't teach anything remotely related to any religion even if it states you shouldn't murder, lie, cheat or steal--golly gee willikers Batman] coupled with parents that don't take the time to teach their children between right and wrong. It's a sad state of affairs really.

Crime is rising because liberals say you cannot punish your child because they may get mental problems. They continue to pamper instead of giving children direction and discipline. The judges feed society the garbage of the world by giving short sentences and letting nut cases back on the street too soon. So much Attention is given to sex offenders that drug dealers and con artist run rampant. Sex offenders take the heat and keep attention from the effects of drugs on our society. We need to treat drug dealers just like sex offenders and give them long sentences and keep their families off the welfare roles. Take everything from them, the house, car and even furniture. If they do not care about their families why should we?? Family members who do not turn in drug dealers do not deserve any consideration. They live off the profit so they also bear the pain.

Mario Puzo in "The Godfather Papers and Other Confessions" said that crime is the chief employer of the newest immigrant group. So, figure it out. You have 500,000 people per year whose first act in the us is a crime. Do you their kids respect the law any more than they do? My Democratic (Hispanic Caucus) Congressman is accessory to these crimes . I guess its cultural.

2 issues incorrect with what you reported: a million) that could be in accordance with an assumption that maximum of those immigrants change into U.S. voters and then sign up to vote. a lot of them do not. look at each and every of the districts which have hispanic majorities in them. look on the truly low voter turnout in them compared to different districts. guess why it is? 2) no longer all hispanics do vote Democrat. no longer as heavily and lop-sidedly as blacks do. And "hispanics" do no longer all come from Puerto Rico or Mexico. In Florida, almost all of "hispanics" were immigrants from Cuba, and those immigrants (and their descendants) are predominantly Republican.

Curiosity said the same thing you said except she left out the ethnicity. Why is it racist to ask that question? That is a perfectly valid question. I think it has more to do with broken homes and parents pumping out more and more kids so that their welfare check will grow and not caring about what's happening to them. I mean...if you are already poor and on govt assistance why subject MORE kids to this poverity? Just to have the rob and steal to have the things that you should be able to give to them.

there is a disporportionate # of illegals in jail/prison compared to their overall abundance in the general population.

Problem is a very real one, but when a question is posted the way you have posted it, it seems to be a racist commment rather then a ligitimate question on how we handle this high crime rate by illegals

Uneducated has nothing to do with it. Yea it's rising. Anyone who has eyes can witness it every day; sometimes several times a day.
