Without cell reproduction in the body our organs, would shut down only a few months after our birth. We wouldn't have any circulatory system to speak of, and most certainly no immune system at all. We would probably end up looking like eighty year olds by the time we were teenagers, and we wouldn't be able to heal, and wouldn't produce any scars. Otherwise said, if we were to get a cut, we wouldn't bleed, and the cut wouldn't heal.... we essentially wouldn't exist. If cellular reproduction wasn't possible we wouldn't be able to reproduce either, because the cells in the reproductive organs known as the gonads need to devide under mitosis, then devide under miosis. Without either it wouldn't be possible for any reproduction at all.

What is the importance of cell reproduction in the body?

Very important most of the cells in your body (except your brain cells), have a very limited life span, so if you had no cell reproduction, not only would you not grow beyond a single cell, you would also die within a year (if that) due to the fact that your body (or cell) could not replace that said cell.

Cell reproduction is necessary for the repair and regeneration of lost cells/tissue. Most of your organs (with the notable exception of the liver) cannot reproduce - they are post-mitotic. If they are damaged, they are damaged for good. However, other cells in your body can divide allowing you to replace cells that you have lost for any particular reason. For example, if you cut your finger, the skin cells will reproduce to seal the wound. Cells in your immune system are constantly dividing in order to create antibodies and fight off foreign particles - and replacing those that have gotten too old and weak.

Cells also divide in gamete production. Producing sperm and eggs in the body requires cell division (almost constantly).

However, cells dividing too much or inappropriately can lead to negatives. This is what we typicially see in cancer.

There are two main types of cell reproduction in the human body, meiosis and mitosis. Meiosis is the dividing of cells for sexual reproduction, they create cells with only one chromosome, the X or the Y. Mitosis describes all other cells that divide with both sets of chromosomes, i.e. those for growth pr repair! I hope this helps!

Well, as the body ages the cell within the body do as well. Human body cells die off after a while so the body constantly needs to reproduce the cells that way our organs can continue their jobs and we can live on.
