As most people have already noted, CID is Cubic Inch Displacement.
This is the volume of the engine as expressed by U.S. auto makers in the past. Today, most auto makers have standardized on Liters, expressed as "L"; or cubic centimeters, expressed as "c.c."
CID is computed by taking the number of cylinders (8 for a 350) x 0.7854 (a constant) x Bore^2 (the diameter of a cylinder, squared) x Stroke (the distance between the extremes of a piston's travel in a cylinder)...so:
CID = NOC x 0.7854 x Bore^2 x Stroke
One Cubic Inch = 16.387 Cubic Centimeters = 0.016387 Liters
So, 350 CID = approx. 5735 cc = approx. 5.7 L
Also as previously noted, this was a very common small block GM engine.
