Different believes exist, but lets look at it with some logic. If you live only one life, the universe is very unfair. Which, of course, is unaceptable. How do you justify the difference between a baby born with "a golden spoon in his/her mouth" vs a baby infected with AIDS or born from a crack addict mother or starving in a refugee camp, thru no fault of their own?
And how do you explain kids born with incredible talents, which they have never learned or even being exposed to it? Four such kids were documented on "60 minutes" this spring. Also, what about infants in hospital that start talking in a foreign language to a foreign doctor. Many many cases of the above have been documented around the world.
Does it not make more sense that you learned thru many lives to better yourself and thus elevate yourself to be closer and closer to the creator?
Unfortunately, cultures that believe in reincarnation have misunderstood "karma". Karma: "you reap what you sow" is not a punition, but a lesson that you give to yourself, to better yourself.
Some lessons are very harsh, but no necesarily because the person deserves it, sometimes you choose to kick yourself because previous lessons failed, or you want to help. You learn how to pull yourself out of a tough situation and then teach other how to do it.

There are so many different theories. Some people just believe in Heaven & Hell, but others believe that you keep coming back until you are perfect enough for Heaven. And then there are all the different theories in-between.
I do not know whether to believe in reincarnation or not. There are several arguements for & against. I do not really want to believe that my previous life was worse than this one, though.

I think it would be a waste of a good soul to only have it on Earth for about 70 years.

Nope. The Bible tells us we live once and after this the judgment. So how we live this life is very very important.

I don't know or care what it says in the bible, there is too much evidence to support reincarnation.
