Unfortunately there are people out there who do not realize that their food arriving to the supermarket depends on the farmers and ranchers. Most city dwellers care very little about where the meat and veggies come from as long as the are fresh and in stock!

When your entire existence is based on living within a city, you and most folks will have no conception of farming or ranching and any process that involves the food production cycle.

Thus, you will pay the price for your ignorance

lmao.. i do agree that if we don't get our farm and ranch taken care of then we could have a major problem with food. I mean food from the super market does come from farms lol. People dont think about **** like that but i mean what can we really do?

Oh, yes...well educated people, too, that are willing to risk their future on living out there 'globalization is ALWAYS good' fantasy. If we cannot get it from here...we'll get it from there. It's a shame that my friends share these opinions. I tend to look at life a bit more pragmatically. I think there is a place for globalization, but its not a be all - end all to the American consumer. We should not be robots that always buy from the lowest bidder...because that's capitalism. There are consequences to all our decisions. Compromising our own food supply is not one I care to fool with too much.

Of course there are. They actually make up the majority of the United States population. I'm not being degrading, it's just statistics. I think it's only 20% of the adult population that has had higher education. Something like that.

Sadly enough, I can believe it. Even here in Montana - where we are surrounded by cattle ranches, wheat fields, and potato farms - there are people who are that dumb.

Save the family farm!

That's just a "little" proof of what indifference to other things has done to some people who it's just not able to see beyond their own interests...

By the way, do you image what kind of conversation could you have with a person like that? (If that's possible ).

I feel sorry for her

She's obviously not connecting the two, and thinks she's a wholly independent person who doesn't rely on government, environment, other people, etc. That's gonna be one heck of a painful wake-up call one day!
