Last April~June we planted around 260 pumpkins. The ones planted in April have fruit about the size of a basketball. In the last week to ten days, they've turned from green to orange. Are they mature, or should they stay on the vine longer?

It depends on how big you want them to get. If they are orange and you like the way they look, pick them now. If not, leave some of them and just watch them to make sure they don't rot.

When the color has stopped deepening they are done.
