I think that an expanded description of "what the money is going to go toward" would probably have helped this sale move forward. For some potential purchasers, the motivation would be "helping" - there has to be a good story. But this raises the larger capitalistic issue of what is viable in a business sense? No CEO anywhere would have predicted the "pet rock" phenomenon. And yet it was worth millions of dollars to its creator. Who would buy property on the moon? The guy who decided to acquire the rights to sell moon acreage is worth about 8 million bucks now. Sometimes money is more about creativity and less about greed.

You would be amazed at what junk is sold and actually sells on Ebay. People are selling absolute trash and some moron is bidding on it. A fellow I know makes a living selling junk that he buys for next to nothing---the trick is to sell it to dumb foreigners who think anything from America is first rate and a "must have"!

I saw someone selling old rope once. He found it on a beach near a fishing village and actually made money from it. I'm thinking of selling my elderly relatives. It gets them out of the house.

that is tooo funny! the best weirdest one i saw on ebay was advertising space on SOMEONE'S FOREHEAD! and it actually got lots of bids!!
