Why do players find it so difficult to let go of playing when their careers come to an end?

just imagine having sex twice a day......... its like this to them and to me too even thught iam a state level player i like what i do, when ever i see a football i just want t kick it hard and score a goal its just a reflex because iam adicted to the game u'll like it u'll just love it. when a person has been playing a sport for about 20 years and more every day and one day he knows he has to stop playing it for the team he has been with for 10 years how would he feel just think dude u'll find find the depth.

football is their career. most of the best players have been playing since a really young age...they probably had a ball in their cribs with them as babies...its hard to give up something you love and have done all your life....its even harder to admit that youre getting older and just arent as good as you used to be or as good as the young guys who we're seeing lately.

because of their love for the sport that they play
the money that they make
the fact that for most of them, that is the "only job" they have ever known and the fear of the unknown, i.e. what to do when their career is over, scares them..

but, probably, and most important....for the comradere that they share with his or her teammates, day in..day out..like a second family.

i find it hard to let go of highschool sports, and if i were good enough to become a pro then i definantly wouldnt wanna let go of that.
