You should get into your community theater, if you have one. It's a great start and you can meet a lot of cool people that way. If not community theater, take drama classes in school if they're offered. Since you sing, musicals would be a good idea for you as well as plays :) The theater is a really good foundation to have.

Hi - the best way is to find a good agent. The agent will help you find jobs within local print and media - you don't have any experience acting, so getting an agent to help book you jobs will be important.
Do NOT fall for the agents that all want fee's up front - those people are scam artists and they usually will not find you any work.
Look for the ones that work on contracted basis - this means, when you land a job that he/she set up and you get paid for it, he/she get's a portion of that pay.
If you're wanting to gamble a little harder and want to try to go directly into acting, then you'll need two things; a good head shot and then you'll need to locate a good CASTING agencies; these people look specifically for people to fill rolls in movies - mostly small parts, but the better known casting directors get jobs from big companies to fill the larger rolls.
As for not wanting to move.....well, that's going to be tough; most acting jobs really are found in NY and LA (mostly LA -NY has mostly stage actors).
Good luck to you and hope to see you on the big screen one day!

Professional Movies? You need an agent. And frankly, you probably are not in the right area for it. B/c of the demands of larger films they usually take from the local talent pool.
However, you can get started now by doing what you can, when you can. Most kids don't walk right into a movie spot. They start by doing extra work, book some tv spots and the movies come later.

Movies are filmed in Calf., N.Y., Florida, Canada and overseas. It will be very hard for you to find a "Professional movie" without moving to Calf. or N.Y. You are still young, so go to your local college or/and community theathe to see if there are any plays you could be apart of.
Have your parents send a snap shot (headshot and 3/4 length shot) with your name, age, height and contact number on the back of the picture to the address that are in the link that I'm sending you. (It's a list of reputable agencies)
Make sure your parents read this first.

To get involved with professional movies, you need to be a professional. Which means you have an agent and you are a member of SAG, AfTRA or AEA.
I recommend you perform as much as possible, go to college. Then move to LA and audition like heck.

get an agent, they help you out! and if you can make it all the way, then I have a chance too! Agents also research for jobs, plays, and movies that get you a bunch of money!
