I'm 18, but my boyfriend is 23 years. We have been going out for about 8 months. Once i told my friends how old he was alot of them told me to dump him, but i like him alot and I have strong feelings for him .. Well plently of people have told me that when older dudes go with younger girls there bascially going to use you for sex, but I dont think that is true because me and my boyfriend have only had sex one time and I was the one that bring up the idea and he never pressured me to have sex. Also alot of my friends have beent telling me to go with boys my age but alot of them are just so immature and I cant stand most of the boys my age that go to my school!! What would you do? Do you prefer to date older guys or the one's around the same age you are?

Who are you dating...you boyfriend or your "friends". They are probably just jealous because you have a man...who cares how old he is...You know what kind of relationship you have. Age isnt anything but a number...My bf is 4 years older then me. You need to tell your friends to mind their own business and get a man of their own!!

Did he date you when you were 17 and he was 22? He could have gotten arrested. Now he is safe, even if he is a pedophile.
If you were my daughter, I would not have let you date him at 17 and if he had waited for you to be 18, I would have given my blessing.
It is true that 18 year old girls are more mature than the average 18 year old guy, but, I think at 18 you can be thinking about other things besides getting a boyfriend to show off to your friends. Where are you going to college? What do you want to do with your life? Do you volunteer anywhere? Do you want to live in Paris, drive a truck, or become a doctor? Or just get a boyfriend to follow around?
What does he want to do with his life? Is it something you can embrace and enjoy, too?.Do you exercise together? Talked about kids? Can you tell him absolutely anything? Can he tell you anything? Have you seen him really mad? is it something you want to live with?

Don't worry about what your friends think if this guy makes you happy stay with him.Age really does not matter when it comes to love.I am 23 years old my husband is going to be 33 soon.When we met I was only 19,but,like you,I could not stand to go out with guys my age ,too immature and ALWAYS looking to have a sexual experience,not to mention that they still do not know where they are headed in life.Even if something happened and I was no longer with my husband I would still date guys the same age as him.

Girls mature faster than boys so that is probably why a lot of girls go with older guys. Sounds like some of your friends are jealous. If you're happy keep him and don't worry about the others. It's hard to find a good man.

Tell yourself to stay out of YOUR relationship. I had the same problem my boyfriend is 4 years older that me and like you i thought most guys my age were a little imature but my friends said the same thing I talked to them but they didnt want to hear it th said the same thing that he would preusser me bla bla bla ... I just didnt let it get to me. We are still toghether and happy some time you just have to stand up for yourself no matter what. Besides girls mature faster than boys

Your friends need to but out. He is less then ten years older then you! My husband is 11 years older then me and we aren't having any problems because of the age difference. If you love him a few years shouldn't matter and it sounds like the only reason you are concerned is because of what your friends are saying so stop worrying, enjoy your man and your relationship!

I understand! Guys that age are a little more mature. There is nothing wrong with what you are doing! Dont listen to your friends, do what you think is best for you. I always dated guys who were a little older than me. And now I am married to one who is 6 years older than me and it balances out great!

I thik just as long as you are comfortable with your relationship thats all that matters. 5 years is not that much of a difference and youre 18 your grown,you can do what you want. My bf is almost 10 years older than me and we get along just fine. Besides girls mature faster anyway.

If u are 18 there is NOTHING wrong with you dating a man 23 years old! Geeze its not like he is 60! I wouldnt worry about what my friends do or say! Its not them who has to date him- its you! If he makes you happy and u have lots in common- grab ahold and dont let him go! Love is truly hard to find- so when u do nurture it and spoil it! Tell your friends to bite your butt

I refuse to date dudes my age. They act so immature. Hes not that much older than u and your legal. Dont worry bout them, if u treatin u right an not doin what they say he do then stay wit him until he **** up.
