It isn't happening. A-Rod is going nowhere unless St. Louis offers Pujols. Yankee fans may be stupid in booing A-Rod and revering Jeter, but every member of Yankee management knows that Rodriguez is their star and Jeter is A-Rod's waterboy.
As to the post above, New York is only paying about 14 million a year of A-Rod's salary. Texas is paying the rest. New York pays Jeter more money than it pays Rodriguez.

Arod can't handle the pressure in New York???????
He seemed to handle it well enough to WIN THE MVP award last season.
Like the guy above me said, the Yankees braintrust isn't so stupid to give away the best player of this generation for a good third baseman and a piece of trash in Jones.
Honestly, I can't believe people on here feel like ARod is just some average player, or a guy who can't handle pressure. Check the numbers and facts before you say such stupid things.

A-Rod has a no trade claus. So good luck getting that threw. He has had 5 bad games but don't think they will dumb him. Although would be nice to get rid of the heafty pay check.

If this were a money move only, I could see it. Otherwise, it's probably a rumor started by fans or the media who cannot stand A-Rod.

He has been having some rough times in ny and he hasn't carried the team like they thought he would and the yanks only care about winning which they aren't doing right now so I think it is a very good possibility.
