AT least 50 balls are use, because every 3rd out there is the player who made the out throws the ball into the stands or keeps it. Thats 9 balls plus the ones that go into the dirt. Thats at least 25 balls.plus the ones that are fouled off or hit for a grouder. Thats at least 20 more.

Actually, for each game, the umpire crew uses 12 dozen (144) new balls. The foul balls stay with the fans that catch them, but most of the balls that you see the umpire put out of play are are actually recycled later in the game. Sometimes, there have been extra inning games that went so long that they had to be suspended when no balls were left that were playable.

some pitchers throw it in the dirt on purpose so it will have a better grip for a better curve. so the opposition makes them change the ball, the ump usually jus rubs it out and then puts it back into play.

Umm, many games have balls, dirt, and pitches. I can even think of a few that I can't mention here. You have to be specific, bud.

I believe the home team is responsible for supplying twelve dozen balls for each game.

Five dozen of those balls are rubbed with a special, MLB-approved mud to provide better grip.

I believe the avg. figure is around 144, as I've heard teams expect to order 12 dozen balls for each game.
