If we felt like that all the time you would be searching for something to feel even better than that.

Actually I find that alot of things make me feel good besides drugs, pills, etc. Good music, a good book, hard work, getting out in nature, especially the mountains. There are a lot of good things in this life. Taking advantage of the good things will give you a natural high, not the artificial feelings brought about by drugs, etc. I suppose that the reasons that the above things make me feel good is because they help me feel close to the creator. And to be honest, the closer we are to God, the better we feel, so the creator did make us capable of feelling joy and happiness without being on drugs. The key is to live our lives so that we can be close to him.

Fascinating conception on your part.
In a universe of pain and woe, why indeed not?
Since you allow there is a creator you would have to investigate what that creator says about it.
There is abundant evidence to this without consulting a text in the natural world.
People use stimulants to escape the pain and drudgery of the world. It's lies, meanness, callousness, lovelessness.
It is an attempt at savoring a kind of paradise.
It is artificial.
It's not the real thing.
The world is in fact under a curse. This will end.
Investigating this is the burden humanity must bear, to it's own ultimate benefit ... and liberation. I hope this helps.

Have you ever met a kid who has had everything they ever wanted from the day they were born? Never had to live in pain, had all they could eat, and had a "great" life? They are generally spoiled, weak, bratty kids and grow up into spoiled, weak, bratty adults. Imagine if all humans were able to have the same thing... everything we want, no pain, ect. We would not have any chances to grow and become better. I guess you could say it is a "survival of the fittest" type of thing. The best, or fittest parts of us wouldn't have any chance to get better. Oh, and not to meantion drugs mess up other things in your system, like your brain. Maybe God wanted us to be able to think...

Actually, there is a "high" in God! An experience with God is better than any drug or alcohol...no side effects or hangovers. This experience is explained in the Bible in the second chapter of Acts when God poured out his Spirit on those waiting for his promise... it was so powerful that onlookers thought them to be drunk. This experience is still received by thousands today.

If you felt like that all the time, why would you do anything else? Euphoria is our bodies way of rewarding us for doing something right. Drugs (alcohol is a drug) mess up that reward system a little bit, giving us false inputs of euphoria at time we really don't need it. But if we were constantly in a state of 'reward' there would be no need to get anything accomplished in life.

Simply because there is no "Creator". We are living beings and our bodies do malfunction at times. We have to take necessary measures to set it right.

For the same reason that we don't have ice cream at every single meal...we need something for a treat!
