The pet that you want depends on how much space do you have for it. It also makes a big difference if you live alone or with someone else. Let me recommend you a Canary. I have one at home now. They are clean, they cheer up the house or apartment, and they make you feel better because If the bird's singing, it's because it's happy. Any pet will smell If you don't take good care of its cage. But If a bird is not what you have in mind. Then, How about a fish. You don't have to get a goldfish. Get a different and exotic fish. A fish that you can enjoy and you can show it off when your friends come and visit you.

Yes, house rabbits make great pets and can be easily litter trained. Mine run loose in the house, they are quiet, don't shed like cats, and only make a mess in their pen (I leave the door open). The only catch is that young bunnies can be destructive and all rabbits need to be spayed or neutered. I would recommend getting an adult from a shelter. Adults are much calmer and are not destructive at all (if fixed). They really do make great pets, mine like to hop up on the couch and watch TV with us.

I suggest Cavie, ( guinea pigs).
First they are small. They are easy to take care of. Dont smell as long as you keep the cage clean, They are very personable.
They love to held and brushed.
Second, they dont make hardly any noise. They do something that is called a "wheek" when they want something.
Mine, do that when they hear the sound of one of those plastic grocery bags., It so cute to see them wheeking and standing up on their hind legs , and there front legs on the bars of their cage looking at you with there big round eyes. You cant help but love them. Mine get along with my dog, and also cats when I had some,
So I recommend a guinea pig. I know one would bring you alot of pleasure in your life.

Back in the day, they use to sell "pet rocks"....they don't smell, cost excess money and they can go everywhere with you.
Actually some type of lizard is the least smelly.

Have you ever had pets before? Birds can be great, but some can be very loud.
Rats/gerbils/mice/hamsters can also be fun, and if you keep the cages clean, they shouldnt smell.

I have a cockateil, she's wonderful, although she does get loud. She is our watchdog and lets us know when someone is coming. But easy to take care of, best pet.
