As much as I despise Bush and his administration, I think the failure to provide adequate relief to Katrina victims was hardly purposeful negligence on the part of Bush and his cronies. I think it was more due to preexisting defects in our emergency response infrastructure.
The only reason why the delay in providing aid to New Orleans is causing such a raucous is because in this case black people happened to suffer. To put it nicely, blacks happen to be a more “vocal” group when grievances need to be expressed. When natural disasters happen in other parts of the country, that are predominately white, there is never this sort of uproar, even if the government proves less than adequate in meeting their needs immediately.

You need to look at why the governor did not do the right thing or why the mayor did not force an evacuation first. Everyone is jumping on Bush when it was the political system that developed the worthless FEMA group to begin with. All those higher level jobs went to buddies of those who supported both republicans and Democrats. So many jobs are held by unqualified the government system because of political appointees that most organizations are really worthless. I now of someone that was appointed a manager of a program and had no idea what he was supposed to do. Luckily he did not even have to show up for work, just cash the check becasue there were underlings that did the real work.

I disagree with you wholeheartedly. The people in New Orleans were told to evacuate. It's no ones fault but their own that they didn't take the proper precautions to get the Hell out of there. If someone told me to leave because a hurricaine was coming, you better believe I would be gone before they had a chance to tell me twice. George Bush did what he could. You are being very bold in making a blanket statement like you did. Nobody is going to help you unless you help yourself first. We have a lot of people from New Orleans staying in our town. You would think the people here would take this time as a chance to better themselves since their past was erased, but that's not happening. They are just trying to get whatever is free and they are ruining the places we gave them to live. Maybe next time, you will think before you speak.

Bush didn't murder people in New Orleans. I lived in Louisiana during that period of time. The people were alerted to leave. The governor and mayors of the city and state argued back and forth not making a move and refusing the help of the federal government saying that they had it under control until they decided they didn't and then started the blame game once things went wrong.
Many of the people who stayed had the means to leave but were to worried about their "things" that they wouldn't and then complained when things started getting bad for them. The mayor had buses available that he could have taken people out of the city hours before and did not activate them.
I blame the mayor and governor for the things that occured on that day.

Bush didn't kill anyone. It's not like a hurricane comes up with no warning. The city had plenty of time to get people out and they didn't do it because the mayor and the governor are to stupid to know how to do their jobs. Their should have never been that many people left in the city. You want to put blame, put it on the local and state officials, they must all be idiots!

He's a - number one for taking lives, like a hobby. When he was
governor, he had more executions in the state of Texas than
all other states combined, he's throwing perfectly good cytoplasts
in the trash, instead of using them to find cures, more people
have been killed in this war than any other, New Orleans -
just another notch in his belt.
Do you know that the United States has more people in jail than
any other nation? Disturbing.

The city of New Orleans and state of Louisiana was completely unprepared for this disaster - not Bush. It was their responsibility to warn people and evacuate MUCH MUCH MUCH sooner than they did. Bush and the federal government is not too blame.

I love the left wing spin on this site. Can you people not think for yourself? The first questions need to go to Gov. Blanco and Mayor Nagan. Not that I think they committed "murder" any more then President Bush did.

Why did Mayor Ray(school bus) Nagin not do something? These were citizens of his city.He could have at least handed out the keys to all of those school busses instead of letting them just sit there, idle, while the people of his city were dying. The Dummy should have evacuated The city .Doesn't he get the weather channel?

Even though I think that both the federal and the local government was responsible for what happened with Katrina, I do not think that Bush murdered anyone.
