Six months. At her 6 mo checkup, the doctor recommended it. I haven't been able to get her to drink water, and since teething will be starting soon, the pediatrician recommended giving her about 2 oz. of juice with 2 oz of *city* water for the flouride. It won't rot their teeth, as long as you don't let them hang around with a bottle/sippy cup in their mouth all day, and NEVER give a bottle to sleep at night. Even milk will rot their teeth if you do that.
Oh, and don't bother will bottled "baby juice". There is no difference between regular 100% apple juice and the 'baby' stuff, except the price. They rip you off!

My little one is only 5 months old, and i've never given him juice nor will I ever (while's he's still little). Juice is bad for adults, Which means it can only be worse for babies. Juice is filled with sugars, preservatives, and other chemicals. It's better if you give your babies natural fruits which gives them what they need. It gives them the natural stuff they need like fibers and nutrients. If you really want to give your babies juice, you should consider making your own. I reccommend that you buy the "Magic Bullet". It's a small, convenient blender which also comes with a juicer, and it is good for making individual servings. It is also easy to clean up. Just keep it away from your kids, the blades are dangerous.
I make natural fruit juices for my son from time to time. My usual juice blend is Oranges, Apples, and Strawberries served at room temperature with NO added sugar.
Good luck.

I started my daughter at 2 1/2 mos. but I Put half water and half juice and I used the clear juices. Plus a friend of mine had to for her baby for constipation and It helped my daughter but I only give her once and a while and only once a day when I do because she don't really need the sugar yet.

I followed the guidlines on when I was supposed to since three of my 4 kids were born at 36 weeks. When they were around 7 months is when I started the three preterm babies because adjusted age they would have been 6 months old. When my son was 4-5 months old is when I started him.

I didn't until my son was 8 months or so and drinking from a sippy cup. I figure if they aren't overweight or rotting their teeth sucking on a bottle all the time then it's no big deal to have a little juice once in a while.

I offered it to my son at 4 months. I would pour one ounce in a bottle & then dilute it with 3-4 ounces of filtered or bottled water. He didn't care for it until he was 6 months old. I also choose 100% juice only. It's better for kids of all ages.

We let my son try some diluted apple juice around 6-7 months after he had already had applesauce. He was fine with applesauce but had a reaction to the apple juice. After that we waited until until somewhere around 9 mos or so and then started with diluted white grape juice and diluted pear juice.
My girls both didn't have juice until around 1 year. Then they started with diluted white grape juice.

She didn't care for the baby juice when she was younger. I started giving her the juicy juice later on after she was off the bottle and drinking from sippy cups.

at 4 months i started my baby on foods. only applesauce and rice cereal, so i thought it ok to give apple juice because he had already had apples. then he had pears and it went good so now he can have pear juice, etc. but i do water it down. 4-6 months is good, but i would treat it as food and space it a few days before introducing new juices to weed out any allergy.

with my first (twins) it wasn't until around 10 months.... they just had formula.
probably around 4 months.... but I watered it down significantly.
I had a sippy cup out for my other kids and the baby just found his way to it which was fine because I never had to teach him how to hold a sippy cup.
you could always leave one out watered down and let the baby find his/her way to it.
I still water their juice down at least 50/50. It cuts down on the amount of sugar- plus it is also cheaper. They have never known the difference and don't care.
