Absolutely. Would I be comfortable? No. I enjoy the a/c during the 11 months of heat we have in Texas, lol. I also like being aware of the world through newspapers( printing presses are electric) and television news. I also like have stoplights at major intersections as opposed to stop signs. And let's not forget the computer, I don't even own a cookbook anymore, I pop on the puter and find a different recipe in the blink of an eye. It has opened up a whole new world. And my microwave, fridge, and can opener help in that world.

And then there is bath time, I could very easily switch over to gas to heat the water, but I don't think bathing by candlelight in the evening is my thing. Or having to find a match to light the candle in the middle of the night when I have to visit the porcelain God.

I am sure that I could survive because before electricity was discovered people existed. However, living without electricity is a horrible thought. I would go into shock. I have become accustomed to the comforts that are provided as a result of electricity.

Oh yes, I could survive and have. After several hurricanes..Camille, Katrina..etc. It ain't easy I tell ya. I was only 16 when Camille hit and never knew about computers and we didn't have a/c then either..so didn't miss much. But after Katrina I nearly croaked from lack of PC time and the air was so hot and stagnant. But I did survive! It can be done..guess we are just spoiled these days.
