My friend said she'd call me Saturday and didn't and I was really bored and upset about it, that was annoying, but I have another friend that annoys me a lot in general, but we're still friends because that's just her personality. Which TYPE of person do you dislike more?

Have you ever heard the old Chinese proverb "The road to hell is paved with good intentions"?

Well some people are like this, they make promises they cannot keep.

A good lesson here is not to make promises you can't keep. If your friend wasn't sure whether she could call you or not, then she should have said: "I'll try to call you on Saturday", or "I'm not promising you, but I"ll try to call." Wouldn't you have more respect for her if she would have said this instead?

Question is does she do this ALL the time? Or is she just a very busy person & is so busy that she could have easily forgotten to call you?

First don't jump to conclusions as she may not have been able to call, or was too busy to call...unless she does this all the time.

Second if she does do this all the time, perhaps you need to step up to the plate & take matters into your own hands & the next time she says" I'll call you"...you need to respond with something like "Don't say you are going to call, if you have no intention of calling, because I've been there & done that & I have more important things to do than sit around & wait for you to call when you have no intention on doing so." (Noone may ever pointed out to her that she does this frequently, so you may be making her aware of it for the first time ever...say it nicely, say it from the heart.)

[On a side note, I wonder how she would feel if when she did call you weren't there?]

Third, if she does do this all the time, why is she your friend? Why are you waiting on her phone calls? Maybe it's time you found some new friends & if not new friends, some hobbies or something to occupy your time rather than waiting on her phone calls. LIfe's too short..get out there & live!

Now as for the needy friend. Needy friends are sometimes clingy & possessive, sometimes even jealous. I hope this needy friend of yours is just a mere aggravation & not possessive or jealous. Nevertheless this person may have insecurities & looks to you to be her/his rock of strength. You may need to help this person stand on their own 2 feet. You can't be this person's rock forever. You didn't say how this person was needy, so I can't really comment further on this one.

Which do I dislike more? Neither...I genuinely feel sorry for both. The one who has good intentions and never follows through, is not the type of friend that I want nor the type of person that I want to be. The needy friend I will try to help, but not at the cost of being totally manipulated--I will not let this person control me, or make me feel like I can only be their friend & noone elses. This person may be a pain in the butt to others but Iwon't turn my back on him/her because of their insecurities or neediness. (unless it does go to that dark side of manipulativeness, possesiveness & jealousy.)

Best Wishes! :-)

I can deal with not being called because I forget to sometimes call back for whatever reason.
But annoyingly needy people drive me up the wall and just pluck my nerves to no end! You hear me?? I am just almost beside myself with irritation at someone like this and have to find some kind of excuse to break away. Most of them have "cling-on personalities" anyways and you feel like after awhile you just have to "peel" then off of you! Uggggggggh!!

I think they are both insecure people, as I was that way earlier in life.. Being insecure you want people to like you so you alway say youll call youll go here there..
