Is this true? And which would you prefer if you could make the call, for the gas to be set at one price, set at $10 a gallon (or whatever their goal is) and it won't be able to rise anymore, or have it to keep rising constantly and every morning when you wake up, your local gas prices have risen 14 cents per night?! Overnight, every week!?

I'd prefer that the free market set the price. I don't like the government to set the price on ANY goods or services in the private sector.

They are bound to screw it up.

Like I answered earlier to someone that had the false impression high gas prices were the doing of 2 Democratic Presidents, it's about our own habits. When Americans start buying the fuel efficient cars and taking mass transit when available, then you'll see prices go down. It stays high because we use A LOT of it. If you had something that people would keep buying irreguardless of price, you'd keep rasing the price until you saw the demand drop. Demand isn't dropping so prices stay high. Simple.

first of all oil expenditures are set via the international industry, no longer Bush or our congress, as a result there is little they could do different than allowing extra drilling (increasing grant), and lowering the gasoline taxes (lowering the fee). Venezuela has a low priced because of the fact they did no longer have a team of liberal tree huggers scuffling with firms from development refineries, as we do here, and because they have a large grant of oil, partly because of the fact no person stops their companies from drilling, as our companies are stopped via liberals here. we don't have sufficient skill, and that's one hundred% the fault of liberals. This contains the consistent efforts to keep away from new drilling, so we are extra based. So blaming Bush or Republicans is in order that stupid that's sickening. those are the very people who DO help extra drilling and refineries, and lowering taxes. Why blame them? because of the fact the liberal media brainwashes the vulnerable minded into doing their bidding, that's why. think of human beings. think of. "Evil" gasoline companies make the comparable earnings MARGINS as the different important industry, good in line surely. the main suitable volume is basically a share of a huge number of money, and the extensive investment they could make to stay in employer. Take a employer path it sluggish liberals! we are able to all proceed to pay what we could, as we have no determination. gasoline isn't $2 a gallon returned so we are able to could alter. Hydrogen / electric powered automobiles are probable the destiny. The industry will rigidity the alterations all on this is very own while the fee is extreme sufficient. We could all alter. I merely bought a 12 mpg mustang and offered a corolla that i'm getting 40 mpg on the line, 32 mpg conventional. very almost thrice the gasoline mileage, however no longer as "cool". i will take the money, thank you. in line with risk it's time to lose the SUV and stop working for gasoline? Nah, we could merely locate a scapegoat and communicate approximately conspiracy theories....

I don't know if it is true, but it is a possibility. Gas and oil or a nonrenewable resource, once it is gone it is gone for good. If their is a shortage of supply and their is a demand for the supply, prices will go up. Everyone needs to find alternative ways to transport themselves. Carpooling, riding buses, and riding bikes and walking is really a big deal in my city. Did you know that the US alone uses 60% of the world resources? Just a little fact.

Gas prices are going to be at their highest ever on Labor Day weekend. Maybe $3.75 for regular.
Then they are going to go on a miraculous decline, with the lowest price at about $2.25 a gallon on election day.
Whomever wins the elections, they're going to be up to $4 next year.

yes im sure its true.. they will get it to whatever price they can.. obviously as any business would want to make the largest profit..

but as far as your other question.. the price of gas will never reach 10 dollars so that would be no. i dont think we will fail to move on to other fuels and ways to get around that problem by then. it will keep rising..butonly so much and slowly.. hopefully as i said before we will ultimately answer this problem before it gets anywhere near that point.
