According to the MLB records books the fastest pitch ever thrown was 100.9 mph by Nolan Rayn. They used some US Army radar to clock this pitch. You see the radar used in the games are not all set the same. In same staduims the radar is set faster then in other staduims. And that is why Nolan Rayn is credit with the fastest fastball ever, because it's the only true reading MLB has.

Jeff Kent? Are they out of their minds. very almost the poorest fielding 2d baseman of all time. basically his bat stored him interior the lineup. Chase Utley could have been a lots extra proper determination. Yeah Chase, bear in mind him. an excellent fielder and an rather good hitter. His very first hit interior the bigs exchange right into a house run, and a grand-slam homer, at that. i'm comfortable with Rivera as a a pitching determination. Bonds, ugh. An smug cheating SOB. No way that he could be on my record of greats. Pujols of path, is heading for greatness, and after the 2010 season, barring harm could be the proud proprietor of easily the superb ever ten seasons as a hitter to start a occupation. Plus, he's a superb protecting participant.

Ryan's "official" record is actually 100.9, not 101.9. That's the one still listed in Guinness, even though other pitchers have been clocked since then as fast as 103 mph, including Joel Zumaya of the Tigers earlier this season:

I'm not sure what will be required to replace Ryan as the "official" record-holder, but apparently has done so yet.

100.9 is indeed the fastest for a MLB game (by Nolan Ryan) but Bob Feller was clocked by some device in the 1940s at 107 MPH.
