Well, we are partly to blame, our ancestors didn't think ahead, and used chemicals as fuel that polluted the air, and increased global warming, though probably not marginally since it was already happening, but they did speed it along. We can also blame a recent change in our sun. It's actually started to burn the helium in it, creating greater radiation, both light and heat as well as the harmful forms. We could also blame extensive thermal pollution, which has helped to raise the general temperature of the earth itself. We also could blame sunken ships for helping to change the currents of the oceans at the floor. So if you want to blame anyone, blame modernization, it's the root of our problem, and if we don't change our ways soon the earth will continue to become a very violent place to live, because the weather will only get worse.

nature, the extreme weather as you call it is always there. it just matters at what period of time your looking at. Nature will always fix any situation. A good example is a volcano erupting. It sends more stuff in the air in a day then man does for many years. the air comes clean in a matter of short time. so just enjoy what the weather is as it will change often . do not let anyone fool you in thinking man can effect the weather. He can not. Some people are always trying to create fear buy lying about the facts. Just think about the cave men worrying about the ice age. and lighting fires to warm the global climate

Increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. It sounds like a cliche, but the CO2 levels have paralleled the atmospheric temperatures for centuries (if you look at arctic ice core samples, you'll see these changes). Why? CO2 gas allows heat from the sun to stay trapped in our atmosphere rather than dissipate into space.
CO2 comes from lots of things. Not only are you and I expelling it constantly, so are the factories producing everything you have in your home. So, in a sense, humans are to blame.

When the Tsunami happened, it tilted the planet closer to the sun. The media reported it & then quickly covered it up. Bush isn't to blame. Why blame anyone but ourselves? We're polluting lakes, streams & our oceans. We don't insist on recycling in all cities & towns. Styrofoam is still made & used. CFCs were used for years before it was known it harmed the ozone layer.

The Sun. It appears to be getting hotter. The polar ice caps are melting on Mars right now and we certainly do not have any SUVs or factories there. Larger storms are showing up in the atmosphere of Jupiter, and these are thought to be caused by the Sun.
So the planets are heating up and the one thing they have in common is the Sun.

Considering we are currently in an "interglacial" period... they will all eventually melt, causing the average annual global temp to drop to around 0c and another glacial age will begin, we will all die and the earth will wipe out all of our remains to be discovered by the next batch of mammals to creep out of the primodial soup covering the new earth.

global warming due to stupid people not using their brains:
clothes dryers when it is hot out instead of clotheslines
classifying SUVs as work trucks and exempt from cafe standards
not opening windows at night with a fan to cool their houses
