My stomach bloats with pain pretty regularly, no matter what I eat. I removed bread, still bloated. I removed sugar, still bloated. I removed bread and sugar, still bloated. I'm always irregular, no matter how much fiber or veggies I eat or how much water I drink. I'm not sure what to do, but the pain has me bent over and the bloating makes me look 3 months pregnant. This has been happening for the past 10 years at least. I've taken the meds for IBS and it helped the first week, but didn't help the rest of the month. I'm not sure what else to do. I've tried gas products, laxatives, etc. Any other suggestions?

Thank you all for your answers. I used a gas reliever, and I've added some other foods back into my diet. I was trying to lose weight, but salads aren't the way to go for me. I lost a few pounds, but the pain and bloating weren't worth it. Back to square 1. Zelnorm didn't work for me. I'm going to try peppermint though. Thanks for the advice.

You should try to eat a balanced diet. Eating too much of anything or not enough of something can cause GI problems. If you have been diagnosed with IBS & your physician prescribed a medication, the medication should at least dull the issue. If it has not, as you mentioned, you whould go to see your physician because there could be a more serious underlying problem.

I really think you should see a Dr. Salads are a bad choice anyways. Lettuce is a huge cause of gas. As is diet soda or other stuff with sugar substitute. Watch out for sugarless chewing gum too.

I agree with solorose..you've been eating WAY too much roughage and your tummy's a mess. You need to talk to your doctor about other treatments for your IBS(Zelnorm). Until then, lay off the rabbit food for a bit. And don't use too many laxatives either, you'll screw up your GI tract for sure! Good luck, sweetie!

welll, I suspect that all the roughage you've been eating is contributing to the bloating, certainly won't help it. Are you avoiding milk products? If IBS is your problem, have you asked your doctor about Bentyl? It helps mine a great deal.....also, I drink alot of peppermint herbal tea.....it is very soothing to the GI tract.

Because you have eaten nothing but salads this week. Too much of a good thing. Leafy greens are full of fiber which causes gas and a lot of pooping.
