First :
* (a) *(b) = (a*b)
* K (a) * L (b) = K * L * (a*b)
Second : to simplify the s. root you analyze the number to its simplest factors, every twice similar factors come out the root, just like
(72) =( 2 * 2 * 2 * 3 * 3) = 2*3*(2)
In yours, 4(2)*6(9) = 24 (18) = 24 ( 2*3*3) = 24*3 *(2)=72(2)
