My dad always taught me not to start fights but if someone was to start one.. I was to "finish" it LOL... so yes, if the person kept it up and my child did nothing.. I would eventaully tell them to open a can of whoop a$$!

That's a tough question for most parents. As parent, the last thing you want for your child is to have another kid use your kid as a punching bag. I always told my daughter that if another kid hit her, to just hit back and I'll deal with the "authorities" later. I always advised my daughter to never hit anyone, but to defend herself if necessary.

I have taught my son to never start a fight, and if ever it happens, he knows its o.k to take up for himself and defend himself. I think if kids do that, things usually work themselves out. Kids are going to be kids, and we as parents aren't always going to be there to protect them, So they need to learn some things on their own. I personally, don't think it does much for a childs ego, to be pushed around, and have to turn the other cheek, however in certain circumstances, we sometimes have to.

well you dont want to promote violence but i remember if a child took abuse from bullies in school...that would make him a target for more abuse later on.
As an adult if someone hit you...would u do something to defend urself or would you take it?

yea man, if he dont hit back, bullys will think they can pick on em all the time. but teach it only as self defence, or he will become a bully
