I agree Haley Joel Osment would be great, however has anyone seen Havoc (yes, lame movie)? The kid with the camcorder (from Domestic Disturbance) or Joseph Gordon Leavit (not his best part, but he acted it well) would be good as well. They all have the starrey eyed innocence with just a slight edge in their eyes that allude to the "angst" (sorry couldn't think of a better word) underneath.

That kid from the 6th Sense. He's a good actor and he's young enough to play the part too. I would rather have an unknown play him though. Are they making a movie? I'd be surprised if Salinger allowed them to.
