Well I do like the gangster-mobile look of the Magnum RT with its high doors and low profile window design. Then too it has the 340 hp V-8 and the versatility of a wagon without the bland appearance of a minivan or traditional wagon. The long slow curve of the back of the roof area is graceful in a muscular sort of way.

The Charger RT I find somewhat less impressive. It has the handling, but the angularity of it does not blend well with the rounded edges in so short a frame. It seems to me theywere trying to capture the design hints of some of the old muscle cars of the sixties and combine it with some of the upright stance one sees on drag racers, no the rails, but the pseudo-stock drag cars. It seems to me it fails at the first because of the short wheel base, but modestly succeeds in the second which I do not regard as a terribly attractive look.

The GTO again has the performance, but I find the body style anything but remarkable. If you are looking for something with a lot of potential speed without attracting attention, what is sometimes called a "sleeper" that would be a good choice. My own feeling is that its style is just too bland and unimaginative for what it is. They designed the guts to make a statement and added a body as an afterthought.

It is a funny thing with the Mustang. I have found a sharp division among men and women over the aesthetics of it. I think FOrd got it just right in blending the old and the new, and that this is the best looking Mustang they have ever produced--brawny looking, but not exaggerated. Moreover, they have refined the suspension and drive train to make it less squirrely than its predecessors--using some tricks they acquired from Ford's Jaguar marque. So the power is there, the handling is there, and the only thing at question is the look. I love it, and my wife and daughter feel quite the opposite. It may be one of those ultimate boys toys, but perhaps comes up a bit short in the chick magnet category.

You did not mention one or two other domestics that I think are worthy or note, although much different cars from those you listed. The Pontiact Solstice, though hardly a muscle car, gets very high marks from me on styling and price. Pontiact put out a really beautuful car there, and one I think both men and women would agree was beautiful. It also brought in the car at a very reasonable price. You'll not be sucking the paint off the sides of the rest of the motoring public in it, though it is perfectly capable of well exceeding the speed limit, but it will put a smile on your face every time you climb in, and passersby will take note of yoru passing.

I also think the Ford 500 is a pretty attractive car, and reasonably well powered. It too takes hints from Ford's past, including part of its name from the old Galaxie 500. But I think that it accomplishes the muscle car sedan look a little more elegantly than does the Charger RT, though the Magnum RT still gets my vote among the three of them.

Pontiac Solstice or the Saturn Sky. Both are cool looking and new and don't use a lot of gas.
