BY NEVER GIVING UP, follow your desires never sway from them, as long as they are in focus with what you want to be successful in, determination, never straying very far to loose focus,that is very important learn from your failures and keep on going forward no matter what,if you don't have failures in your life you cannot learn from them to make you stronger, don't worry about would of, could of, think positive always and at the end you will have what you never gave up.

Okay there are some good answers here but none have mentioned God!! You must first put your trust in God and he will make sure you stay on the right path! Okay after you do that then there is the fact that u must have a good education, trust in yourself, etc!! And you must be willing to work more than the next person. And don't let nobody bring you down because those people are just haters!!! If u have friends that are doubting everything you do...i'm sorry but those are not your friends!! But jus believe in yourself and never settle always go for the GOLD!!

E-Z-est way to do that is not care. If you don't care. Think about it, its all in your mind. Let me give you a for-instances. When you are successful you don't care about being successful. So in theory that will make you successful. And if you ask me its not theory because it ben proven time and time again just look around.

First, you must learn how to recall your luck. Smile at every obstacles. Never lose to any problem in life. When u smile, luck count on u.
2 Change the environment around you. change the loser's traits.
3 whatever the result is, u cannot stop. If u are tired, don quit but rest for a while.

look at what you want to be successful at and then look at whose successful at it. learn from others, mistakes and your own time.
invest all your time into the things you want to successful at because its only practice makes perfect.
