I wouldn't get a Motorola L6,U could get a firefly! So your child can only call the people in his phone no one else.Alot of people get a firefly for there child cause its alot safer! So I would get him a firefly! If you want him to have a regular phone i would go with nokia or samsung, you get all the extra stuff on it and alot better signal!

I don't know the phone per se, but here is a good independent website that tells you more of the details of the phone as well as reviews from users:

Motorolas in general are good phones, my son has a V547 flip phone and he likes it, he says its easy to use, but unfortunately the only down side is that after a while it can be quite hard to charge. We use Motorolas at work as well, and they have been playing up after about 8 months of use, but just trying to get them charged. Try the Samsung D600, hubby has one and even he can use it!!!

I am not a fan of motorolas they are unreliable and the battery is poor does not last for more than a day! You would be better off gettin a Samsung they are reliable and have fun extras for kids!!

Yeppers,

I helps. I just got my first phone but my brother is nine and he wants one so he must like it because all of his friends love theirs. They call there parents to pick them up if they miss the bus or they forget to pick them up after school :) . I think a young pre-teen or 7-9 year olds would love them too or I'd check the firefly also. My friend has one and she 12.

Good Luck:

Kari

Yo be honest... Nokia's are so much easier to use. If it's for a kid(i dunno how old) motorola's can get confusing.

Also Make sure you get PAY&GO. Kids have a HABIT of over spending and you wanna teach them some kinda value of money. Cause it's not like they'll ever be short. LOL

Take Care

I'm not sure but my brother works for Verizon in OR. He says they have a new phone he refers to as the Shrek phone because it is green with two antennas. It has like five buttons that you program the numbers in IE: yours, your wife, grandma etc and one for 911. It also has GPS with fencing so you can track your child if he/she is lost but also set a parameter where they cannot go. Like if you tell them they are only allowed to go to a friends house around the block. You set the parameter for your block and your cell will ring if they go outside that setting. you can set it as narrow or wide as you wish. Anyway. Sorry to babble but I'm getting one for my kids as soon s they put a Verizon in AR. Good luck.

This is one of the worst phones signal wise. That is why they are really cheap. All the extra stuff on it works great but signal sucks. If you want this for emergency purposes, I suggest getting something else. Like Nokia!!!!

it's good, but fireflies are better. they can't recieve calls from anyone they don't know. especially those people trying to sell random stuff and they can't get prank phone called (which can really suck). plus sometimes the motorola batteries are stupid.

hope to hear from you soon. thegreengirl319@yahoo.com. i haven't heard from you in a while. really want to talk to you again......miss getting to talk to you. i get it if you don't want to talk to me anymore. just tell me that. i'd rather know than check my e-mail every 2 seconds.

It all depends on if your child is responsible enough to handle it or not. That decision has to be the decision of the parent.
