Here are some REALLY good, and very inexpensive ways to treat most acne at home. Try each method (unless you’re allergic to the ingredients) until you find one that works best for you. Good luck =) BTW, I know some of these may sound bizarre but try them…what have you got to lose other than the acne!!
1. Put toothpaste on your acne before going to bed. (Make sure it is paste not gel). It should reduce the swelling of acne noticeably.
2. Dab egg whites on your acne and leave on for 20 minutes or overnight. It’s supposed to pull the infection out of the blemish.
3. Wash acne infected areas twice a day with warm salt water. This reduces oils in the skin and helps to dry the acne up without further agitation.
4. Use ice on acne before going to bed. This works best on pimples that have not yet formed a head. It reduces swelling and helps to prevent scarring.
5. Wash and dab acne with cotton balls that have been soaked in vinegar. Let dry; do not wash off immediately.
6. Place strawberries leaves over your acne and the alkalinity will help to reduce the swelling.

If you’re looking for accurate acne information, best to see a dermatologist. Some people believe doctors are predisposed to take the easy way to deal with acne… prescription drugs. But, with many, this simplistic answer may not be the appropriate course of action. Some feel that such prescription drugs just treat the symposium and not the underlying cause. But, a local dermatologist is still your best starting point.
For me personally, I discovered a great informational acne treatment site. Not only is there good information/articles but I got their audio e-book and following it’s advice can now say that my acne is a thing of the past! Keep in mind, were all different and there are various types of acne, so what works for some may not be totally effective for all.
Bottom line, hang in there, you will get past this! Sincere best wishes and good luck.
Oh, by the way the site that helped me is:

I know where you're coming from, and to be honest the only thing that helped me was a drug called Accutane. Your dermatologist can prescribe it to you, it works-trust me. I had terrible acne and there isn't anything left. I know you don't want to use medication, but that's the truth. Another thing you can do is drink plenty of fluids (especially water), and believe it or not but as many carrots as possible (I wouldn't make this up). Carrots have the same vitamins that make Accutane work. Avoid too much sunlight, have plenty of exercise and avoid greasy and oily food. I tried proactive and it worked for me...kinda, but not really. Good luck to you, I know where you're coming from.

Wash your face with facial cleanser, not soap, twice a day. If it gets too dry, use a hypo-allergenic moisturizer. Drink plenty of water and avoid soft drinks, chocolate, and processed foods (like chips, snack cakes, etc.). You still may have a pimple from time to time, but it won't be nearly as bad.
If all that doesn't work, get Pro-activ Solution.

My dad noticed that my hands are always at my face - biting my nails, resting my chin in my hand, etc. The oils and germs on my hands were getting onto my face. He suggested I just wash my hands a lot. I started washing them several times a day, with plain ol' Ivory soap, and my acne was gone within two weeks.
Good luck!

Clean your face twice a day with a face wash and then use a gentle astringent and then use a moisturizer. Treat any spots on your face with neosporine until they go away. Try really hard not to touch your face with your hands. Drink more water and hope for the best.

if you are near the ocean a few minutes of soaking/swimming getting yuor face wet in the ocean will clear it up. The salt water is the key to this.
