This one was painful to watch but the sheer ability of Maxi Rodriguez and the beautiful he scored against Mexico was the best goal by far in the 2006 World Cup. My only solace is that it took the goal of the tournament to oust Mexico.

I'm going to have to agree with the majority and go with Maximiliano Rodriguez's goal in Arg-Mex. The tension was enormous, as they were tied and already in extra time, and the pressure on the players must have been incredible, but despite that he pulled of the most beautiful thing in the entire tournament. Everything was perfect, from the position of his (left!) foot to the corner of the goal he sent it to. WOW. Just wow.

Fabio Grosso's goal during Italy vs. Germany, IMO, although Maxi's was amazing too.

The GOAL scored by Maximiliano Rodriguez's against Mexico. It is really an amazing GOAL and I can never 4get it, it was a typical Argentinian Goal !
But I don't know, Is it selected as the Best GOAL of WC 2006 ?

the maxi rodriguez's left-footed volley from the right corner of the penalty area during the knockout game with mexico in the round of 16..he sealed the game in the last minutes with a very beautiful goal=)

best goal was scored by maxi rodriguez during the extra time of the mexico vs argentina game....that goal brought argentina's score to 2 helping them win the game!
neither teams played very well in my opinion...as much as i hate to admit it, argentina wasnt the best that day....but maxi really shined with an amazing goal!

The goal that won the game between Argentina and Mexico. The second goal in OT where Argentina won 2-1 in OT. I dont remeber the guys name but ball in the air to him and he blasted in from mid air.
