A question was asked about how people feel about the death penalty, and leogirl, as she often does, tells her to move to a different state if she doesn't like it. Now, how do you justify us taking action against a country, but suggest that others 'cut and run' instead of stay and fight, for what they believe in? Isn't that talking out both sides of your mouth?

moral808, I hate what my country is BECOMING, not what it is. More conflicts have been solved through diplomacy than through war. That goes for both sides. Furthermore, most violent crime is INTRA racial, not inter-racial, so your facts have no bearing. Nice way to cherry-pick your facts. Those of us willing to stand up against fascist regimes who seek to destroy the rights our fore-fathers guaranteed us, have earned their citizenship. Those who lay down blindly and make decisions based on fear have earned and deserve nothing.

I am not suggesting anyone mover unless they want to. I disagree with you on almost every subject but I still respect you because for the most part you bring up valid points and refrain from the school yard name calling. I am open minded but I am convicted in my beliefs the two can coexist.

First off, Leogirl is an idiot. Conservatives are as a whole widely divergent in their beliefs. Some are purely fiscal conservatives and others toe the whole line of conservative policy. The thing is that most of the "Yahoo's" aren't representative of the feelings of the majority of conservatives. Most of the ones like Leogirl are beyond conservatism and into Fascist territory, or even as far right as Reactionary political stance. Unfortunately they don't have the intellect to have real debate. In real debate common ground can be discovered, or compromise. The Reactionary wants no compromise, only for you to adhere to their beliefs. Ironic as it may seem these fools feel that unless you agree with them that you are un-American, regardless of truth or reality.

Because they are conservative. They are against any big change. There is nothing wrong with fighting for what you believe in. They tell people to move away because they don't want any opposition. They would like to be completely surrounded of people who think just like them, but that will never happen. The same could happen to them. Someday they might not agree with something and another people will tell them to go away.

aren't you the ones who hate where you live? I hear all the time how the left think America is the greatest evil in the world. Yet there are more countries around the world that support your view of appeasement to bullies rather than facing violence head on. If your concerned about stopping violent behavior in society, you have to study history and recognize what works and what doesn't. Disarming victims does not discourage violent crime, it encourages violent crime, affirming victim status to racial minorities adds to the anger of all parties. The statistics show that in inter-racial murder rates, more blacks kill whites than whites kill blacks by a factor of 60:1. This is born out in other forms of violent crime as well.
But what bothers us most is the fact that you morally equate us with Chi-Coms whose records today on human rights are atrocious. While we in America have worked atrocities on members of our society, we are not currently involved in these atrocities as a matter of official policy. You are literally equating their control of their citizens faith and speech with our control over members of terrorist organizations.

You have fallen into the old "America...love it or leave it" syndrome. If you don't like a policy of your country, or state, or county or city, you don't move out. You fight it. That is the American way. Conservatives aren't real Americans. They would rather everyone roll over and play dead.

The basic, bottom-line difference between conservatives and liberals is this: A conservative will 'put up or shut-up'. If (s)he doesn't like something, (s)he'll change it or go where (s)he doesn't have to deal with it. A liberal will grumble and gripe, blame the current powers-at-be, and hope that someone else will come along and fix it.

By definition, a conservative is someone who prefers the status quo and dislikes change. They don't like "troublemakers" who think of new ways of doing things, even if it's a change for the better. They are afraid of ideas because they are too rigid to adapt.

They figure that if they can cause enough people who don't agree with them to leave the country, they won't have to round up so many for the concentration and elimination camps they are foaming at the mouth to establish.

As an independent thinker, I'd rather fight than move. I have as much right to complain as someone has to tell me to move. So everyone is excercising free speech. Though if you don't like that fact, then you should probably move to another country :).

My answer to a lot of questions as to why things are the way they are is not to move away, but get politically active and make sure your voice is heard.
People can change things if enough of them want to.
