You see people that have reputations of being a great guy while others are not as well liked.
One person can't be 100% better then somebody else 24 hours a day 365 days a year can they?
But that is how society works. One guy will be really good at something or have good PR and then all of a sudden he is a great guy at everything and has the halo effect.
I know I sound jealous here, but i am addressing a fact.
Its like marrying a women just because she has a nice set of boobs. You love one thing about them so you end up loving the whole package.
This could be a good or bad thing but I would like to think people could be a better judge of character.
I am guilty too, and have my biases and favs. Not trying to be holier than thou.

Reputation is simply a characteristic for which you are known; thus it requires other people to recognize it or broadcast it. It doesn't necessarily mean it is accurate. What is important is that one's reputation be based on something substantial and that it be earned. As you correctly pointed out, some people's repurations are not really earned.
You just have to observe a person over time to see whether their reputation is deserved or not.

its all attitude really. or partly. if you're happy with who you are, and can be happy with people being who they are, then color race boob size, hair style and every other physical trait mean nothing.
would you rather have a great looking woman who robs you blind and cheats on you, or a decent enough looking woman that would go to the ends of the earth because she loves you and thinks you do no wrong?
