I took Microbiology and scored a 97% on my final grades. I actually enjoyed learning what this class had to offer..I suppose it helps if you find what you are learning about interesting.. I read the chapters in the book and studied my notes at least 2 weeks in advance to the tests.
There is so much to know that it is really impossible to learn it all in a week so my advice to you is to make sure you have plenty of time to study the materials and pay attention to your instructor.

if your week in science be prepared for a lot of study time, especially if your taking them at the same time.
