well i've got gay friends and they r cool and they dont hide the fact that they r gay. i love them for that. i've always blievd that people r afraid of what they dont understand. we all come from a society that says God created a man and a woman. so people of the same sex being together is seen as unnatural.
yet back in the times of Shakespeare they dressed young boys as woman to play the roles that women werent supposed to.

The Adam and Steve argument is irrelevant, null and void. The whole world doesn't believe in God, so the whole world does not have to follow the same rules. We are fortunate enough to live in a country that allows freedom of religion, but it seems that some people forget this, and they use religion as an excuse and a cover-up as to why they really hate the idea of homosexuality, whatever that reason is, but once you take away the God argument, what valid reason is there to disagree with it? You don't have to like it, you don't have to do it, but once you take away the argument that "God didn't intend" it to happen, all that's left is "it's nasty" and that's a dumb reason to boot. Nobody's asking for validation, or agreement, just the freedom love someone of the same sex, and have the same rights as a same sex couple that straight married couples have, that's all.
And here comes another one, comparing homosexuals to pedophiles. Seriously, wtf is wrong with some people? Do you not understand the difference between two consenting adults who love one another, and an adult who tricks, or forces a child into a sexual act? Be for real, people.

Many people are afraid of anyone who is different. The more subtle the difference, the more frightening it is. If you meet someone who looks much the same as you, works at the same job, has the same education level, lives in a similar neighborhood, that person might be an automatic candidate for part of your personal support network- a potential friend and ally. What if you then find some fundamental difference between yourself and the person you were about to trust wholeheartedly? I'm not making excuses for people to hate one another, I'm just showing part of the reason that people become fearful in the hope that knowledge can lead to understanding.
Answer B is that people are competitive and are always willing to point out one another's "faults" or anything that makes "me" appear better than "you".
Answer C is fear of one's own sexuality. What if I think of myself as hetro and a gay person seduces me? What if I can't resist?
Would any hetro person actually be able to ask him- or herself this kind of question? Not usually and the denial of the question leads to a vague feeling of fear.
Answer D (I'll stop after this one) is fear of rejection. If I'm a swingin' attractive man and I come on to what looks like a swingin' attractive chick and she tells me she only likes other women, my feelings will be hurt in ways that I cannot express except by saying that I hate feeling this way...
Homosexuality is actually very effective birth control. I am the most open minded hetro person I know, a deep thinker, willing to face facts bravely, but I still don't like seeing men kiss other men. The issue is too deep for people to fully explore their real feelings and that always manifests as fear.

I don't know that the world disapproves/hates homosexuality. Maybe because I am not homosexual, I have a different perspective, though. I don't agree with homosexuality, but I don't hate anyone because of their choice to live their lives the way they see fit. I'm sure there may be aspects of my life that some people may put up to judgement as wrong and sinful as well. As a Christian I'm taught to hate no one and let God judge people who I think are doing something wrong, just as he will judge me. But, I do feel bad for those who are gay and seem to attack people who have opinions that stem from the Bible. Isn't cursing and saying mean things in response to them make you no better than them?

The world is not fearful of homosexuality. The Christian world is disgusted with how society is so tolerant of sin. Homosexuals know they're being sinful if they yield to the temptations of depravity. They know their decision to lay with one of the same sex is a sin and it's wrong. They already know that.
If a pedophile decided that he was born the way he was, with the depraved nature, and he also decided that he should be able to practice his depravity simply because he believed "he was born that way," would society be bullied into having to accept that position and allow that monster to act without consequences?
Well, just because homosexuals have decided, "I don't feel accepted by the opposite sex because of my size, they likes, my dislikes, so I'm going to just accept my fate and sin." Then they are going to have to reap the consequences for their decisions.
Hate the sin, love the sinner. They are choosing to sin. They are acting on lusts of the flesh, adultery, and depravity. That's their choice. But God will get tired of this, just as he did in Sodom and Gomorrah.

People fear what they don't understand. We need only look back at the history of mankind. Look at the genocides thru the ages...the wars. Yet people choose to discriminate against gay people? The reasons that people commit those crimes are because of fear of what they do not understand. We may never solve the problem of fear of hmosecuality but lest we can do is manage it! People should be much more aware of it..and educated about it. To think that peopl still ask questions like...'what makes people turn gay?' amazes me about he global education system!
Some nations may still think that slavery is justified but there are much fewer than before and hopefully we can manage homophobia or the lack of understanding of gay people

Because most people are weak minded fools who become insecure about themselves when everyone around them isn't living in total agreement with their arbitrary social values.
Or the short answer: sheep bleat nervously when some of the herd doesn't conform.

I don't, and I'm straight. But, I think it's because a large portion of the world is Christian and in the bible it says it is not right.
Personally, I suppose I'm not Christian. (my relgion? I'm not sure either o.o) So maybe that's why I don't get all weird about it.

Ignorance. People are afraid of what they don't understand. Plus many religions demonize homosexuality because they want their followers to procreate so that there will be more followers who will give more money. It's really quite sad.

Lighter shade is right its not about fear...at all. Its about disgust. I am disgusted at the thought of being with the same sex. I don't fear homosexuals. If everyone did join the club we would destroy ourselves from lack of reproduction. Gay ppl why should we fear you?
