i prefer the old to the new. unless you're not very good at understanding things, for example, one of my friends don't quite get a lot of stuff and she tends to ask a lot of questions so my friends and i made her watch it from 1-6. but i prefer this way:
Star Wars IV: A New Hope
Star Wars V: The Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars VI: Return of the Jedi
Star Wars I: The Pahantom Menace
Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones
Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith

epsiode 4, 5, 6, 1, 2,3. That is the order they came out. And I suggest watching 1,2, and 3 first, they set up the original trilogy for you.

what do you mean 7? there are only 6 star wars movies. episodes 4,5,and 6 were relesed first and then episodes 1,2,and 3 were out on theaters.

Release date, prequels are normally watched after so 4,5,6,1,2,3. It's not hard to follow at all, although i found attack of the clones almost nightmarish to watch!
