Accurate knowledge about the Bible is the single most important thing you can have as long as you are on this side of the dirt. Why do most people put this question on the back burner?

I went to a Christian school for alot of years and was very involved in church. Despite all that, alot of bad things have happened in my life and I have lost alot of people that I love. It's hard to keep religion a priority when you have people telling you "just pray and read your Bible and things will work out." Proof means alot to me. I have yet to see how reading my Bible and going to church on a regular basis has done anything in my life. Don't get me wrong...I'm far from an Atheist. But when my checking account is empty and bills are due in a week, I have a hard time believing that my prayers are going to be the cure for my problems. I have yet to see it. It's easier for me to talk to a family member or my husband about problems than it is for me to talk to God. At least with family, I see the results.
