Why would the government fake the 9/11 attacks?

Question

I've read many conspiraciy theories about 9/11, but they always concentrate on details which seem to point to government involvement. For example, the small hole in the pentagon which resulted from a large airplane flying into it.

But, my reaction is what could possibly be the reason that the government would want to fake 9/11.

Please, don't give me details about that day. I'm aware of all of the theories. Just focus in on a reason that the government might have to be involved in any manner.

I need to say that I don't believe that there was any conspiracy of any kind by anyone in the government.

Yes and it is public record now that was presented initially on Loose Change! The government knew that JFK did not want to invade Cuba! The military leaders did, who JFK did not trust after the Bay of Pigs! If it were contemplated then, and we had a president with more than 1/2 a brain that said NO, and in fact, JFK fired Gen. Lemnitzer! Bush was looking for a reason to invade Iraq, and he got one! And no, why should it be far fetched! Would not be the first time someone did something like this! Or probably contemplated it! Wouldn't you love to see about 1/2 of the Top Secret Documents? I would love to see Bush's!! And I ask you? Who had the most to gain from Kennedy's death? Oswald???? I don't like being called a crack pot! Especially since you (not the person that asked the question) don't have one damn idea of what really happened, and could care less! When the government withholds documents and tapes, and there is no trace of a 100 ton Boeing 757-200 with 3,000 gallons of fuel on it. They don't have one piece of tape! This plane is over 1/2 of a football Field long!!! No wonder there are so many damn Lemmings in the world who are willing to sacrifice SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE!!!

The USA needs an enemy. Why you may ask? The largest portion of budget in the USA is National Defense! With the USSR gone and not one single other "Superpower" on Earth, then, what better of an enemy than one with no face? The U.S. has no been at war for 13 years with an enemy with absolutely ZERO evidence. I was in the USAF, I have seen many USAF cargo planes and the such. The plane that hit the South Tower was not a passenger jet, end of story. Now ask yourselves how many rights have you lost since the attack on 09/11? "Real" terrorists have a history of claiming responsibility, not one ever claimed responsibility for 09/11. I do not much believe in chance, fate, coincidence nor happenstance. OK, you will think "Conspiracy Theory". I want you to think about the evidence that is readily available for anybody, add it all up. 1+1=2, 1+1+1=3, 1+1+1+1=4, I find it probable that the next number is 5. Does it seem likely that half a dozen guys that learned how to fly Cessnas, with box cutters were able to take over jet liners full of passengers? Is it likely that jets crash and leave no physical evidence? I have looked up hundreds of crashes, and there is always evidence, ALWAYS! Crashed space ships leave evidence for Christ's sake! It is not on possible, nor probable, but highly likely that our government has been lying to us, deceiving us, for decades. That is atrocious!

Uhhh you could start with Larry Silverstein who had just signed a 99 year lease on the whole WTC complex with Insurance specifically covering acts of terror.

Or how about the 1.8 billion in gold stored under the towers of which they only recovered 230 million.

Maybe the Patriot Act which strips the Bill of Rights bare and never would have passed without the pretext of 9/11, incidentally it was like a 1000 page document that was ready in a few days and was put to a vote before almost anyone in Congress had a chance to read it.

The administration had been talking about ways to invade Iraq as soon as Bush took office.

Dick Cheney has made all his money through Halliburton which has made an absolute killing supplying our troops for the last 5 years. And yes despite his previous public denials, he still has stock.

How many reasons do you want?

He instantly appointed guys that make all their money off of war when he became president and you can't find a motive for 9/11 in that? Coming out of one of the longest periods of peace and prosperity this country has known?

Assuming there WAS a conspiracy, the reason for doing so creates the pretext for going to war. Just like Pearl Harbor, attack on the Maine, etc. Its Plausible, not highly probable though. What is more probable is that there was knowledge of something brewing, but they didn't have enough and let things take their course figuring they could avert it. However, there are WAY to many unanswered questions and "coincidences".

Why? Many reasons... But here's a few
- The war funnels money/business to suppliers of hardware, goods, services etc. (Halliburton, Boeing and others)

- Political gain/control - In this case, getting our foot-in-the-door to control areas where there are alot of natural resrouces (e.g. oil and gas). Essentially a national security issue-- although I think we get about 30% of our oil from that region.

- To bring the threat of the enemy to the forefront so that we can go after the Terrorist networks harder than before. Also, allows those in power to be fear-mongers and focus on laws to get their way around snooping, surveilance, etc.

Personally, if you think it was an inside job you're just an extremist. I love how people say the didn't use planes. I watched live on TV. I saw the second plane hit the building. My buddy was crossing the Brooklyn when the second plane hit and saw it hit. So if you honestly believe they didn't use planes, you have a serious mental disability.

The US. Government has lied about many wars. The increase of troops in Vietnam was based on an attack in the Tonkin Gulf that never happened. Some say that Roosevelt knew about Pearl Harbor and let it happen to get support to join World War Two. The Spanish-American War (Remember the Maine!) was also based on a hoax.

Not to mention the numerous covert wars that they lied about. Iran-Contra, the overthrow of Mossadegh in Iran, Allende in Chile, Arbenz in Guatemala. Also the war in Panama, against someone who was on the payroll of the CIA. Cuba as well. The Bay of Pigs invasion was supported by the CIA, and the people who invaded were trained by the CIA in Guatemala.

As for 9/11 this is the origin of the plan:-

Which brings into question 9/11/(2001), which was never investigated properly, and has been hijacked in order to enact Dubya's agenda and the subsequent illegitimate wars.

Actually, a coallition or intergalatic forces were responsible. Venusians were in charge of the twin towers, Martians (less evolved) did minimal damage to the pentegon & those incompetent Plutonians were the ones that bumbled the flight 93 attempt on the white house. Some think Bush (also Plutonian) convenced them to mess up the attempt because he did not want his home distroyed, but I think that is rediculous, don't you?

In order to grab more power.
Enabling them to to "at will" wire tapping with no documentation on who their spying on (this looks to me like a great opportunity for more Watergate type spying, only this time no one can stop them).
This also put the Democrats at a disadvantage vocally. Now if they speak out against the (little dictator) they're considered "unpatriotic". Even during the frenzy Bush created after 9-11 the feeling was that if you didn't agree with Bush's untrue statements you weren't American.

Did you also notice, that for a very short period of time) people quit remarking on his lack of personal integrity and intelligence? This, of course, he brought back to the forefront on his own.

Did you know that George W. Bush's untruths have killed more American's that Osama bin Laden and to date his falsehoods have caused the deaths of more Iraqis than Sadaam killed?

Government didn't fake the attacks. We didn't need a reason to go into the Middle East so why would our own government kill its people?
