YEP! Always pay attention to what the drivers around you are doing! 9 times out of 10 the accident happens cuz of something they did not what u did! Be aware of your surroundings! Obey the speed limit! No more than 2 friends in the car at one time so u r not distracted! NEVER EVER drink and drive!!! Its the number one killer of teens!!!! Have fun- relax and enjoy! Soon u will have your own car and wow the independance u will have! My son is turning 16 in October ansd he doesnt know it yet but Im getting him a Honda CRX for his 16th birthday! Im gonna drive it up to his school and when he comes out it will be sitting there with a big ol bow on it! Good idea????

YAY!! How exciting for you!
Try to be aware of what the other cars are doing. They have a tendency to cut you off, so just be careful and aware that they could come into your lane without notice.
Look forward..don't look at the street just in front of you, but look forward so you can see things in your perifrial vision (sp?)
Be patient. It takes a while to be comfortable driving. Don't expect to be an expert right away.
Best of luck!!

Make sure you turn your head to look all around, at your mirrors, blind spot, and of course in front. I remember the first time I used my brake it was really screechy. I suggest go kind of slow and get used to your car's personality, i.e. tightness of the wheel, power of the gas, flexibility of the brake. It changes everytime I drive a new car that I haven't driven before.

You're probably not ready to be on the road yet. Practice in an empty parking lot so there's no risk of wrecking or running into someone.

Don't get distracted, and start out on small roads before trying out the major arterial roads. Happy driving.
