~Click the start menu
~click on control panel or settings which ever is on your start menu
~from your control panel click sounds and multimedia
~from the sounds and multimedia screen you have many options
you can change the click to something else like a swoosh, chime or even turn the sound off completely.
~to turn the sound off completely you can bring down the scheme drop down menu which is in the center of that window and click on no sound
~from there click on apply and from that point on you shouldn't have to worry about any clicking sounds when you open your applications and start menu!!

Yeah, it's pretty simple...
1. Go to Start --> Control Panel --> Sounds And Audio Devices
2. A window titled "Sounds And Audio Devices Properties" should pop up
3. Click on the "Sounds" Tab
4. On the Sound Scheme drop down list, choose No Sound
5. Save your current Sound settings if you wish.
6. Click Apply or OK.

Did you mean which you heard a clicking sound together as making use of and the sound went away yet what locked up and started smoking? engine? brakes? transmission, training? the region grew to alter into into the smoke coming from? no longer be attentive to-how the type/3 hundred and sixty 5 days motor vehicle you have, the fee to repair could be from a pair of greenbacks to megabucks.

The description is a perfect example of a pending hard drive failure. The hard drive is going, going....
You need to back up, right NOW, back out, and get a different drive, install something that doesn't kill drives!

Didn't it occur to anyone that the hard drive could be failing, I'm assuming that the sound is not coming from the speakers. If that's the case, your hard drive is getting ready to fail, start backing up your data now, get your restore CDs ready and buy yourself a new hard drive.
