Here are a few really memorable gifts that my sons and grandson received:

1. Baby's first bible make sure sign the inside cover.
2. A book of bedtime stories.
3. A picture frame with his name, birthweight and length inscribed on it.
4. A star named for him (you can get these on the Internet).
5 If you are crafty a blanket or quilt that you make.

Have fun and be creative.

babies can't remember ,most people have their earliest memory around 4 so I'd say get him something for the future open up a checking account all you need is his SS# and his name and birth info. But I think that's the greatest gift for his future if school is expensive now imagine in 18 years. I have accounts for both my children already and Ira's so they can afford to go to a good school if they don't get scholarships

Get him a cute little outfit or something small like that and throw in a gift card to walmart or target. Mom and dad can NEVER have too many of those for diapers and things. :) Congrats on the nephew!

Start a photo album of him and put a note in it that you'll fill it up as he gets older so he'll have his own photo album of him growing up when he moves out.

I found a website that has "birth announcement plates". Very cute and something he can keep forever.
