Does it worry you that aspartame, the sweetener in diet sodas and other low-cal beverages, was first developed as a poison? Does it bother you that the Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld left politics a couple decades ago to be CEO of the company that pressured teh FDA to approve aspartame as a food additive becasue it was more lucrative than as a poison?

Not as uneasy as knowing that Jack in the Box is owned by the same people that make pet food.
Listen, very, VERY few corporations stand alone. Huge multinational conglomerates are the norm. It is not unusual for businesses to be involved in diverse interests, each part having little to do with the other. With corporations buying and selling each other's stocks and trading for various considerations, one company's interests may be spread out all over the world and fingers in each other's pies means that controlling interests may come from very unusual quarters.
Does it bother you that you cook on pots and pans coated with a substance developed by a company that makes chemical weapons? Or perhaps drive a car with components also used in the Hummers in Iraq? Or eat a breakfast cereal made by the producer of monkey chow?
I haven't got the time to be bothered by most of this.

I do think it's rather odd that being owned by GE, NBC is so against government and big business, even though CNBC is all about big business, yet NBC/MSNBC is biased againt everything their parent company stands for. It doesn't bother me though. It's just strange, kind of like how FOX News is biased toward morality and their sister network FOX television shows the exact opposite.

GE makes radios, transistors, mri's and appliances among other things, now if you really want to talk about weapons manufacturers, lets talk about Raytheon, the parent company of amana, that makes scud missles and other forms of guided missles.

Have you seen the movie "Lord of War" with Nicholas Cage. It explains everything. Nicholas Cage is a weapons seller and he says whenever there is a war, I am the only one who is a winner.
