I'm 14 and turning 15 on October 15. I live with my mom and step dad. They have already kicked me out of the house and made me go live with my dad and step mom who fight all the time and i fight with them all the time. I've spent a lot of time with my cousin this summer, he's 22 and married. This summer he's been like a dad to me and kept me out of trouble and I was working with his wifes brother who's a mechanic. He taught me a lot about it and has taught me a lot about everything. He has many friends that have taught me a lot about life and have been a better influence than my parents. I hadn't known any of my cousins friends very well and they still cared about me more it seems then my parents have. I want to get emacipated so i can live with my cousin and start my life over with him. I would like to get a good and steady job living with him and go to school where he lives, but i need help figuring out how?

That sure is a tough question! If it were okay, I would think it would be good if you could live with your cousin and his wife. You should finish school no mater what! It is so important for your future. And you should think about what you want to do with your life when you are older. Plus, if your mom and step dad have thrown you out, I assume there must be some sort of support from the state that will help you. Since you are still a minor, it might be possible that you are put in a foster home. Since you are so young, you really need to get some sort of help from outside as in professional help. Go to see a family service center or something similar. If you don't know where to find a contact in that matter, ask at the school that you go to. The counselors there should also be able to help you. I wish you all the best!

Good luck. I went through a lot of the same thing and the one thing that you have to keep in mind is everyone expects you to fail. Prove them wrong! Do well in school and try to get a scholarship. If you don't get a scholarship right out of H.S. don't get discouraged, go to a junior college and work you way through it. Opportunity will come your way if you just keep your hopes up and stick to the plan.

Yuor only gonna be 15. Highly doubt you can become emancipated. YOu have to prove you can take care of, and support yourself and I don't think, at 15, your going to be able to get a job to do that.

Just threaten it to your pops - that may be enough for him to kick your @ss outta the house and you can do whatever you want then!
