Everything comes to an end eventually. Give it a billion or so years and our sun will go noval and the Earth will be nearly destroyed if not completely destroyed.

To think we're causing the end though, is rediculous.

This planet has been around for approximately 4.5 billion years. It has undergone meteor bombardment, ice ages, pole shifts, tectonic shifting, earthquakes, 5 major extinctions, volcanos, hurricanes, a complete atmosphereic change in gas components....and we think some plastic bags are going to hurt things?

George Carlin put it bluntly: The planet is fine. The people can be screwed. But I think humanity has grown JUST enough that they know better than to completely blow themselves to hell.

So don't worry about the planet. It does fine with or without us. Worry about being a productive member of society and we'll all do fine.

The Bible says that it will, it just doesn't say when. If you believe the Bible, then no, we aren't causing it. If you are into science, then no, the world is not ending but it is getting warmer, both because of natural cycles and because of our polluting the air. That will cause major disruption, but not the actual end of the world. Your choice

Eventually, one day, when sun loses it's energy. In the meantime, we are doing great job by destroying life on this planet by pollution, destroying rain forest, overfishing the oceans, starting wars, irresponsibly using nuclear energy, genetically modifying plants and animals etc. No, it's not us. It's bloody penguins again.
