My son got into some trouble at school and as punishment, I took away his iPod. I looked through it and it's full of Coldplay. I didn't know that he was gay, and I don't have a problem with that, but I figure that there must be some special ways to punish gay boys.

Dang it, I didn't say I was going to punish him for BEING gay, just that I could tailor his punishment to his personality, like if he was into Dragonball Z, I could take away his dragonballs.

Coldplay is gay? There is no special way to punish gay boys!
Love your son, make sure that when he gets in trouble that the punishment involves taking responsibility for his actions. Was he disrespectful to the teacher? Make him apologize and talk to the teacher and him about some act he can do to help out the teacher--those chalkboards need cleaning and cabinets need dusting! Is he doing badly at his homework? Make him go in for homework help a couple times a week--easily set up through the school or teacher. Fighting at school? Talk about anger management--many schools and church youth groups have classes about this issue. You could also make him start to develop a hobby as an outlet for angry feelings. I know it doesn't sound like a real cruel thing to do but I find that making teenage boys try something new is horribly horribly painful. Taking away his ipod is a good general way to punish a teen as long as he is going to get it back in a set amount of time.
Make sure you talk to your son about the trouble and why and how he thinks he got in it and share with him your ideas about how and why he got into it.

First off what makes you think he's gay just cause he listens to Coldplay! I find that very insulting , and I would think that alot of Coldplay fans out there , including myself would too!!!! Are you really that ignorant!! First off don't assume that he's Gay till he tells you he is . As far as punnishment goes , have you tried grounding him , from activities with freinds, from TV , or Video games. I think you should get your own head together before you place blame and judgement on your Son. What kind of message are you sending him when you think He's gay cause he happens to like a certain type of music Yould propably have a heart attack if he started listening to show tunes, That was ment to be a joke not serious.So get your Homophobic act together and He might start listening to you.

Yes, there are special ways to do that, just like there are special genetically enhanced creatures out there waiting to devour your **** too. What kind of father are you, your son remains your son whether he is gay or not and you have to be very cruel if you will punish him according to something you must consider his ´weak point´. This is not that much about homosexuality but about your moronic approach to such matter.
PS: Coldplay made you think he´s gay?! So what happens with the other 60% of the Earths population who listen to them?

why do you assume hes gay....i think youve already let him down with your assumptions and if this is indicative of how your relationship is with your son then i see why he got into trouble at school.....and btw...even if he is gay why do you have to punish him any special way?...obviously you DO have a prblem with it otherwise youd treat him normal instead of making him an exception.....acceptance had better start at home or you can look for lots more problems in the future!

Are you sure he's gay? Does he have any Mariah Carey in there? If he truly is gay then you should be rewarding him instead. Take him to West Hollywood to a restaraunt/bar called "Here" he'll love it there!
