This boy I know has been beaten up 5 times because he does not want to be a part of a gang in his neighbour-hood. It happens in school and in his community. I am feeling a bit helpless. I don't know how to help his family. Moving isnt always an option and like the new motto 'Snitches get stitches', he's been getting stitches. Where's the JUSTICE!!!

This happens in school? Where are the teachers, principles, parents, and police?

As for the rest of it, kudos to him for not joining a gang. Unfortunately, it looks like his main options are to get rides to and from school and not go out alone (sounds like he will have to discuss this with his parents). That sucks and it isn't right for a gang to have that much control of the school and streets. Someone needs to take a driveby by that f-ing gang and show them how it is done in the US.

No child should have to deal with that. The school should be able to control gang activity but they must be made aware of the problem. However, the community is another story. I don't want to see your friend hurt and I know that moving is expensive but is there a family friend or family member he could stay with til the heat dies down or til the gang targets someone else. Sad to say it like that but that is how it goes with gang activity.

Theres your liberal hugs instead of handcuff policies. Get on your mayor to do something and tell them enough treating the people like victims and arrest somebody.

we should get all these gang people who want to fight and put them in a field, give them medieval weapons such as swords, daggers, helmets, chainmail, war clubs, maces..........and have them go at it, have them fight off their anger with each other.

maybe it will solve the gang problem...!!

I would start a citizen's patrol if the police can't help you enough.
