It might get rid of some files you want, but it should have an undo function.

To be honest, it may be easier to reinstall windows, if you are that badly affected - the spyware is cumalative, and the programme can never catch it all.

If you know any friends who are good with computers, take it to them!

that is a awful lot of infection,if i were you and you are capable of doing it,i would go for a complete re-instalation of windows,i dont normally advise this, but as you have such a large degree of infection this would be the best plan of action
with this amount of spyware on your system, there will be infection all over the place, and even after running two anti-spyware programs(spybot, adaware)you will still have some spyware left on your p.c
pop ups are caused by adware which is a form of spyware and only by removing adware will you stop pop-ups,and also install a pop-up-blocker,if you havent allready install service pack 2 ,this has a built in pop-up-blocker
the other answers will have links to software you can download, but from a user who understands this subject,i would recommend you take your p.c to your local computer shop, and ask them to
1)re-install windows
2)install service pack 2
3)install a free anti-virus for you(a.v.g or avast)
4)install spybot,adaware,ewido,windows defender
5)ask them to create a partiton and put a ghost image on it so it can be rolled back in the event of any further prob,s

good luck

I used to recommend Adaware, then it was Spyware Nuker (I still love the guys that wrote that software), but today, I can't recommend anything other that Microsoft Windows Defender.

Microsoft released this software about a year ago and called it the Anti-Spyware Beta. It has recently changed names to Windows Defender. It's free, although I've heard rumors that they might start charging for it at some point.

You can download it here...

It's in it's 2nd beta and is rock solid stable. It works very well. I haven't had a spyware infection problem since I've been running it.

If you use Adaware or Spybot or Windows defender, these programmes will quarantine your nasties until you decide to delete them permanently. Check to see if the programme you are using allows you to do this. Your antispyware prog has probably detected "traces", or all the places where spyware is lurking on your computer; it's not unusual for one spyware product to have 10 or 20 such traces.

'Adaware' and 'Spybot Search and Destroy' are brilliant. And they're free.
