Like with many other deranged NEOCONS, one million or a billion is never enough, you can't have too much money in the corrupt Bush administration, and if the middle class suffers, all the better. Think of the proverbial crack head where one rock is never enough, or I guess in this case it would be viagra, LOL.

Unions have outlived their purpose. When the organized labor movement started there was real injustices in the work place, including child labor, unspeakable conditions, and pay that was not commensurate with the market. Now we have laws that not only assure that child labor is controlled in this country, we also take action in other countries. We have government agencies that ensure safe working conditions. It is in the arena of pay and benefits that the Unions have destroyed their own future. The market should determine wages, not the unions. If I could pay a person in Mexico 1/10th of what I had to pay a unionized crew, to perform a low skill task, why wouldn’t I? The modern labor movement has gotten fat on the backs of the American company and the American consumer, and now the greed of the last 25 years is finally catching up to them. The airlines are going bankrupt under the pressures of pension obligations and retiree benefits, the “domestic” auto makers are loosing ground to foreign competitors, and the list goes on and on. I came from humble beginnings, I knew that I wanted more out of life than a factory job could offer, so I joined the military, went to college, and now I don’t have to worry about what Pres. Bush thinks of Unions.

Oh and I dont belive that Pres. Bush was the one who passed NAFTA, which has hurt Unions more than anything else, and they can thank Bill Clinton for that!.

Because Unions are outdated. We would never hire a union contractor. Growing up union in Chicago opens your eys to the corruption and greed for the higherups. They have no interest in worker rights, only their political affiliations. The reasons union membership is so far down and the AFL-CIO has split...TOO much Pac money and not enough vested into real growth programs. Unions are a thing of the past and will not be here in 20 more years!

Because he is trying to save your jobs you silly gooses. The Unions will price you right out of the market, because the company will just close or move to another country. It all about competing in the market place. You like paying nothing for your goods, but you want top dollar for a mundane factory job, that any 3 yr old could do. Can't have it both ways there kiddo.

LOL....I grew up in a predominately union town. It was always talked about that they would pick the biggest loser to be there steward to get them the hell off the line, so the others could get their work done. Unions aren't smart at anything, but wasting your dues and feeding you crap.

Weaken? What this is about is making the unions as responsible as the corporations and politicians they criticize. They forcibly take peoples money from their pockets, and then think they don't have to be accountable for it? That's how they got so corrupt and tied in with the mob in the first place - because they were able to keep their finances secret from the people they took the money from.

Corporations and politicians have to publicly disclose their finances, to prevent corruption. Unions have historically been as corrupt, or even moreso. So this union 'sunshine law' is a good thing. Unless the union has something to hide.

Listen to them collectivist (marxist) suckers whine! How pathetic.

Perhaps he believes unions are a product of a bygone era that currently only serve to artificially inflate wages. They always want more when a company is doing well, but don't want to give it back when the company is doing poorly.

See GM and Delta. Delta's pilot union was faced with the choice of making concessions or not and causing the complete shut down of the airline and putting themselves and thousands of others out of work and they were still very much against taking the concessions until nearly the last minute.

If you haven't notice Bush buddies are in court for big corrupt business such as Enron. He support big business and gives them tax breaks and everything, why this little guy "the union worker" are taken a beating. Even though I voted for him, he does have some good, but this is one area that I don't agree with him on. I work hard to get where i'm at and I have family to support, and he is not making it easy for the American Family!

Unions exsist only to protect the slowest and least productive workers. Why do you think it takes a union shop 10 times longer to make anything and at greater cost than a non-union shop? I feel sorry for you and your husband. The union will screw him in the end.

Hey! You're alright! Good luck with everything.

so that big business can have its way with the workers and they'll have no recourse. labor struggles have been going on in the us since the late 18th century. check out the book "the jungle" to get a good picture of the conditions big business wants you to live in.
