It'll take some time, he may have been abused by someone in the past, or might have come in contact with some kind of predator that scared the wits right out of him. Pamper him, take it day by day, a little at a time, and he will warm up to be a great pet. I've taken in several that have been like that, so I know how frustrating it can be, and how painful all of the scratches can be. ;) Good Luck

By a "stray" do you mean WILD? If so, take him back and let him go. There are PLENTY of tame bunnies out there looking for homes.
Once an animal is wild, it is VERY difficult to turn them around. They have had a taste of freedom. After THAT who wants to be caged up?

wait wait wait... "stray" bunny??? You don't mean a wild one do you? If so, don't count on it ever calming down, and the best thing for it is to let it go!

If by "stray" you mean rescued domestic bunny, give him time, if you've only had him a week he's still adjusting to his surroundings... Odds are he'll get used to you eventually.

He is probably not used to being handled. Give him some time and he'll get better. Make sure you are supporting his hindquarters at all times so he feels secure. You can find books at the bookstore or library with pictures of correct handling techniques that will give you some ideas.

Well he's still trying to figure out how to live in your house. I would spend some time just sitting near his cage and letting him get used to your scent. Rabbit don't like to be picked up because they are prey animals and they feel like they are in danger when that happens. You should really read the book The House Rabbit Handbook and check out this website. http://www.rabbit.org

Is this a wild bunny that you kidnapped? Where did you get him? Wild animals don't make good pets.

I think all bunnies change by season.

He will get used to you and hopefully become a little more tame.

Playboy bunnies get old and wrinkled - sometimes fat too!

usually getting them neutered or spayed calms them down.
